Product description

The Fenix WH23R is a rechargeable work headlamp that features high drop resistance, a unique dual reflector design, and a touchless on/off feature. The remote reflector produces a slightly focused beam of light with a range of up to 84 metres, and the second reflector has a very wide and smooth light path. The luminous flux of each reflector is up to 300 lumens and their light can be combined in turbo mode to a total output of 600 lumens. On the side of the headlamp there is a rotary dial, which can be used to select four positions: off - high beam - wide beam - turbo mode. In the wide and high beam positions, the three power levels can be switched at any time via a button hidden in the rotary control.

The new Gesture-sensing function allows the light to be switched on and off with a wave of the hand at a distance of about 10 centimetres in front of the headlamp. So you can keep your hands free of mud, oils, whatever while you work and the luminaire will still stay clean. It uses a built-in Li-pol battery with a capacity of 2000 mAh, which is charged via a modern USB-C connector directly in the headlamp.

All luminaire parameters (luminous flux, battery life, waterproofness, range, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.

Control
The headlamp is switched on and off with the rotary dial on the right side. In the first position, the headlamp is off, turning to the second position turns it to the main reflector mode, turning to the third position turns it to the wide reflector mode and turning to the fourth position turns it to the combined turbo mode. The power modes in the main and wide reflector positions are cycled by pressing a button on the side of the rotary selector. The headlamp has a memory and will always turn on in the last power mode set.

Holding the button for 1.2 seconds activates/deactivates the sensors for Gesture-sensing touchless control. As long as the function is active and the headlamp is switched on with the rotary dial, it can be switched off and on later by waving your hand at a distance of approx. 10 centimetres in front of the headlamp. Whether the Gesture-sensing function is active is indicated by a blue LED on the side of the headlamp.

Charging: plug the USB-C charging cable into the headlamp and the other end into the USB connector of your computer, USB mains adapter or USB car adapter (not included). Alternatively, any mobile phone charger with a USB-C connector can be used for charging. During charging, the four indicator LEDs on the front gradually light up, after a full charge they all light up permanently. Charging time for a fully discharged battery takes about 1.5 hours. The used Li-pol battery does not suffer from memory effect, so the headlamp can be recharged at any time. The headlamp can be used while charging, but only in low mode.

If the headlamp is flickering, not switching to higher power modes, or not lighting up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
